Today after early breakfast, take a day trip from Paris to St Mont Michel. Your day trip to Mont St.-Michel starts as you depart central Paris by coach in the early morning for the approximate 3.5-hour drive west to the Normandy coast. When you arrive in the medieval village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its unique location on a tiny rocky island, you’ll begin your visit with an included lunch. Then follow your guide on a walking tour, climbing up narrow lanes to the top of the village. Hear about Mont St.-Michel’s history as a pilgrimage destination in the Middle Ages and its renowned abbey, which, according to legend, was founded in the eighth century when the bishop of Avranches received a vision of Michael the Archangel. Arriving at the abbey with your guide, admire its cloister, refectory, and ramparts, and look out at the sea below, hearing about the extreme tides that surround the island. After your tour ends, you’re free to wander up and down the streets of the village on your own to explore more. Perhaps shop for gifts and souvenirs, visit a museum, or just admire views of the Atlantic. Your total time at Mont St.-Michel is approximately four hours. You’ll then return by coach to Paris, where your day trip ends

The cemetery overlooks Omaha Beach, where you have free time to walk along the shore, take in the ocean views and reflect on the bloody events that seem a world away from this now-tranquil location. You can also check out the Visitor Centre, home to poignant exhibits that depict the stories and operations of the American soldiers.
