The only hill station of Rajasthan, situated at an altitude of 1200 mt is rather a surprise in the otherwise desert state of Rajasthan. Nakki Lake in the heart of Mount Abu and is a must visit and a big attraction with tourists

Feel the romance come alive in the Venice of the East – Udaipur with its old city offering the best view of the Lake Pichola. City Palace of Udaipur, once the home of Mewar’s rulers, is today a museum. It consists of several flawlessly integrated palaces, which overlook the clear blue of Lake Pichola.

Known for its 7th century Honey-colored astonishingly beautiful Fort, Chittorgarh is situated at the southeast corner of Rajasthan. The fort is known for its battle between the Delhi Sultana Alauddin Khilji and Guhila King Ratnasimha, and the Johar of Queen Padmavati along with other royal ladies. The fort stands at a height of 180m from the ground and spreads in the area of 240-hectares.

Most of the architecture in Jodhpur– forts, palaces, temples, havelis and even houses are built in vivid shades of blue. The strapping forts that tower this magnificent city sum up to a spectacle you would not want to miss

Founded by Prince Jaisal in 1156, Jaisalmer grew to be a major staging post on the trade route across the forbidding Thar Desert from India to the West. Set in a sea of golden tinged sand, Sonar Kila, a golden fort rises out of a rock of topaz. Visit the silent 12th century Fort built by Prince Jaisal and the Palace. Visit the largest and most elaborate of the famous havelis of Jaisalmer, Patwon ki Haveli.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrive Udaipur- Mount Abu ( 215 kms /4 hrs)

Arrive and transfer to Mount abu. Drive to Mount Abu, the only hill station of Rajasthan, situated at an altitude of 1200 mt. Later visit Nakki Lake is virtually located in the heart of Mount Abu and is a big attraction with tourists. The lake takes its name from the legend that it was scooped out by a god, using only his nails, or nakh. While taking a stroll along the lake, look for the strange rock formations. On the lake there is a dilapidated concrete boat-shaped snack bar. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2Mount Abu

After breakfast, visit the world famous Dilwara Jain Temple, Nakki Lake and Brahmin Kumari Ashram, Sunset point, Shankar math, Toad rock view point, Arbuda Devi Mandir . Dilwara Temple is a group of remarkable Jain temples. Among the finest examples of these are two temples in which the art of carving marble has reached unsurpassed heights. Spend rest of the evening at the Nakki lake Mall road or boating at Nakki Lake. (boating not included in package). Overnight at Hotel.

Day 3Mount Abu to Udaipur ( 215 kms /4hrs)

Breakfast at hotel and thereafter transfer to Udaipur. Check in at the hotel. In the evening take a Boat ride on Lake Pichola – This Lake takes its name from the small village of Picholi on its West Bank. In the lake are several islands. On two of the maharanas of Udaipur constructed pleasure palaces, the Jag Mandir and the Jag Niwas ( Boating Subject to water level at extra cost). Overnight At Hotel.

Day 4Udaipur

Today after breakfast, take a City tour of Udaipur – Visit the City Palace, once the home of Mewar’s rulers, is today a museum. It consists of several flawlessly integrated palaces, which overlook the clear blue of Lake Pichola. Visit Sahelion-ki-bari (Garden of the Maids of Honour) the scene of royal parties for centuries. Drive around Fateh Sagar Lake excavated in the late 17th century by Maharaja Jai Singh and past the Kala Mandir (Puppet Museum) and the Cenotaph of Maharana Pratap. And of course last but not the last – the Jagdish temple. For those interests a visit to the crystal gallery inside Fateh Prakash Palace is a must – many exquisite crystal pieces are on display – from entire dinning and drawing rooms sets to small object d’arts. Most of them have never been used, as they arrived long after the person ordered them died, or lost interest! PM Visit Eklingji and Nagda -22 kms. Northeast of Udaipur is the village of Kailashpuri known for its 108 temples surrounded by a high-fortified wall. This 16th century complex is known as Sri Eklingji Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The sanctum is of four-faced Shiva image of Black Marble. Close by is thevillage of Nagda, which has three old temples, The Jain temple of Adbudji with its interesting architecture the Sas Bahu or Mother and Daughter in Law temple which has fine intricate architecture and carvings including some erotic figures. Overnight in Udaipur.

Day 5Udaipur – Chittorgarh –Udaipur

Today after breakfast, take a day tour to Chittorgarh . Udaipur to Chittorgarh is around 110 km. around. After breakfast drive to same day sightseeing of Chittorgarh, Known for its 7th century Honey-colored astonishingly beautiful Fort, Chittorgarh is situated at the southeast corner of Rajasthan. The large fort is situated at a hilltop in the city and is one of the most famous forts found in the states. The city is located on the banks of river Gambhiri and Berach. The fort is known for its battle between the Delhi Sultana Alauddin Khilji and Guhila King Ratnasimha, and the Johar of Queen Padmavati along with other royal ladies. The fort stands at a height of 180m from the ground and spreads in the area of 240-hectares.Here you can visit – Chittorgarh Fort, Rana Khumba Palace, Khumba Syam Temple, Victory Palace. After sightseeing come back to Udaipur and night stay in hotel
(Note : The Tempo traveller cannot go upto the fort and will be parked at foothill. Uphill travel has to be done by autorickshaw available at nominal cost on the spot)

Day 6Udaipur to Jaisalmer ( 500 kms/ 8 hrs)

Today after breakfast check out of hotel and transfer to Jaisalmer . Overnight in Jaisalmer.

Day 7Jaisalmer

After early breakfast, explore Jaisalmer
Visit the silent 12th century Fort built by Prince Jaisal and the Palace. The uniqueness of this fort is that it is the only ‘living fort’ in Rajasthan – people still reside within the fort walls. The fort stands at the highest point (100 meters) above the marketplace. Also visit the Jain Temples (12th-15th centuries) which lie within the fort complex. Some of them have quaint but impressive figures of Jain saints of white marble
Visit the largest and most elaborate of the famous havelis of Jaisalmer, Patwon ki Haveli. Patwas were the merchants trading in rich brocades, gold and silver embroidery, sequins and ribbons. This family eventually expanded their business to include opium, banking and revenue collecting. A brief stop at Gandhi Sagar is a must – a man made pond; a luxury in the centre of the Thar Desert!
Later in the evening you will be transferred to the Sam Dunes for a camel ride followed by cultural evening and dinner where one can experience the pace and space of desert life. Ride to the smooth, silky sands of Sam sand dunes where the Raikas (camel drovers) travel with their animals over vast distances and know every waterhole and pasture in their region. They are the best guides. Overnight At Dunes

Day 8Jaisalmer to Jodhpur ( 300 kms/5.5hrs)

Today after breakfast at dunes, take the onward journey to Jodhpur. Arrive at Jodhpur airport and transfer to hotel, check in at the hotel. Evening free to explore the heritage markets. Overnight At Hotel in Jodhpur

Day 9 Jodhpur

Today after breakfast, Check out and embark for the city tour of Jodhpur. You will be visiting the Mehrangarh Fort and Umaid Palace which gives stunning views of the city of Rajasthan. Later transfer to airport post lunch for onward flight
